ACLS Initial Course
Advance your emergency cardiovascular care skills with our American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Initial Course. Designed for healthcare professionals who direct or participate in the management of cardiovascular emergencies, this instructor-led ACLS certification course prepares participants to recognize, assess, and manage life-threatening cardiac and respiratory events using the latest AHA Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
The AHA ACLS Initial Course combines evidence-based instruction, hands-on practice, and realistic simulation to build the knowledge, confidence, and teamwork essential for delivering high-quality patient care.
Dynamic, Team-Based Learning
Healthcare emergencies require coordinated teams—not individuals—to perform at their best. Throughout the course, participants work together in realistic, instructor-led simulations that reflect real-world clinical scenarios. Our experienced instructors foster a supportive, low-stress learning environment where participants can develop critical thinking, communication, leadership, and resuscitation skills while receiving immediate coaching and constructive feedback.
By practicing alongside other healthcare professionals in dynamic team-based scenarios, participants build the confidence and competence needed to communicate effectively, make sound clinical decisions under pressure, and deliver coordinated, high-quality patient care. This collaborative training approach helps prepare providers to perform as effective members and leaders of a resuscitation team, supporting the best possible patient outcomes.
.Course Format
Prior to class, participants complete the required AHA online pre-course self-assessment and assigned pre-course work.
During the in-person ACLS class, participants apply their knowledge through hands-on skills practice and realistic, case-based simulations using objective feedback technology. Following each scenario, instructors lead structured debriefings that reinforce clinical decision-making, technical performance, and effective team communication.
Course Completion
Upon successful completion of the course requirements, participants receive an American Heart Association ACLS Provider Course Completion eCard, valid for two years and accepted by hospitals and healthcare organizations nationwide.
Optional HeartCode® BLS
Participants may also complete AHA HeartCode® BLS as an optional add-on during their ACLS training. Registration instructions and additional information are included in your ACLS course registration confirmation email.
